Civil society

Strengthen civil society associations at all levels in Belgium and Europe.

Associations are essential to our democracy. They allow people to connect and give them a voice in the social discourse. The King Baudouin Foundation offers structural and project-based support to associations to help them strengthen their operational capacity and expand their impact.

To do so, we offer financial resources and tools to professionalise their governance. By spreading information, we enhance the visibility and position of associations in the public discourse, and we promote the link between supporters and associations. We encourage cooperation and the sharing of knowledge through conferences, workshops and networking events. We make the case for protecting freedom of association, and we support research to help better understand the needs of associations.
