Eureka (Fonds Vrienden van)
Philanthropists support projects to help gifted and talented children with learning disabilities to function well in 'mainstream' education.
What is it about?
The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They use their own network and that of the asbl Eureka Leuven to collect donations. The funds collected are used to financially support various projects of the organization.
Eureka Education is a school for students with learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia. The school provides education to students from the second year of basic school to the second year of secondary school. They attend classes at Eureka for one to two years. After that, they return to regular education. From the school as a learning laboratory, Eureka serves as a knowledge center where various Flemish projects are carried out.
Eureka Die-'s-lekti-kus disseminates the expertise of Eureka through open projects such as ADIBib. ADIBib ensures, for example, that children with reading or writing disabilities can freely use digital school books and reading software. Eureka supports more than 30,000 children in Flanders.
The Eureka Foundation supports projects that give children with learning difficulties extra opportunities.
