GENeHOPE has been created at the initiative of a couple who experienced the loss of a child due to a genetic disease. Genetic diseases are the leading cause of death in developed countries among children under 1 year old. New ones are discovered every month and each one affects patients and their families for a lifetime. As such, research on genetic diseases has become a major public health issue.
The ambition of the Fund GENeHOPE is to encourage the alliance of expertise in genetic research between the expert centers in Belgium and abroad, like the Imagine Institute in France, with the aim to accelerate research.
