With a fresh line-up of singers and DJs, dancers and painters, the BELvue Belgian history museum showed again last Saturday why it’s been the regular No. 1 venue for the capital’s annual Museum Night Fever.
From Brussels’ own English soul songstress Lily Head and Spanish MC and DJ Clara! to the up-and-coming choreographers of the city’s Garage29 and bodypainting with Ariane Glikerman and Lana Arma, there was something to keep everyone moving and grooving through the historic halls of BELvue’s 18th-century townhouse, right next door to the Royal Palace.
Home to collections that relate Belgium’s fascinating history to a broad public, BELvue has been the star draw of previous editions of Museum Night Fever – it saw 9.525 visitors at the 2022 event. The venue was ready for six hours of art and festivity on Saturday, October 22, with a bar to keep the revellers going.
The theme for the night of Solidarity reflects the watchword of the museum, run by the King Baudouin Foundation, in these difficult times for people across the country. Already offering a range of discounted tickets for under-25s, seniors, students and jobseekers (it’s free for under-18s), BELvue has introduced free entrance for all on Wednesday afternoons and will now be open free every first Sunday of the month, starting on November 6.
