Missing Children Europe (Friends of Fund)
Philanthropists support Missing Children Europe projects to protect children from violence and disappearance.
What is it about?
The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They call on their own network and the network around the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children to collect donations. The funds raised are used to financially support various projects of the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children.
The European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children represents 33 organizations in 27 countries. They coordinate the 116 000 emergency number and the network of cross-border family mediators, who link research, policy and grassroots efforts to protect children from violence, abuse and neglect.
The federation strives to protect and empower children to prevent them from disappearing, and to keep them out of harm's way when they are reported missing. It enjoys a solid reputation among EU stakeholders, thanks to its expertise and advocacy for children's rights at European level.
They are the only organization that collects annual data on missing children. This data forms the basis of our prevention, training and advocacy programs, helping them to develop evidence-based child protection policies. By linking expertise and action, the Federation strives to prevent disappearances, protect vulnerable children and ensure that every missing child is found.
