Paso de la Danta Fund (Fonds)
To encourage the creation of one or more intentional eco-communities in Costa Rica.
What is it about?
The objective of the Fund is to encourage the creation of one or more intentional eco-communities in Costa Rica that searches for the interior peace in which people live in harmony with nature and in which guests can take the time to press pause on the everyday life rhythm, reconnect with nature and themselves.
In order to achieve its objective, the Fund will more particularly support projects and initiatives that ensure compliance with the following:
· To create an environment enabling the members of the community to find lasting inner peace ;
· To teach that it is possible to live in a way that’s ecological, sustainable and throughout the years getting as close as possible to self-sufficiency ;
· Work on preserving nature and all living forms on earth ;
· Promote art, music and philosophy ;
· Improve the quality of life of the local communities ;
· Improve the quality of life of children of Costa Rica, as well as providing shelter and recovery programs for children in distress from other areas in the world facing difficulties such as war zones, refugees, famine ;
· Being a bridge between science and spirituality ; and
· Form an environment that could be reproduced in other parts of the world, and studied by sociologists and politicians to provide solutions to possible future difficulties encountered by current systems.
According to the wishes of the Founder, the Fund will primarily support projects and initiatives led in the Costa Rican tropical forest of the Biological Corridor called “Paso de la Danta”, which is one of the biggest areas of biodiversity on Earth and categorized as such by SINAC (Sistema Nacional de Areas de Conservacion).
