AFS Belgium Fund (Friends of Funds)

The Fund was created on the initiative of philanthropic friends. They use their own network and that of the AFS private foundation to collect donations. The funds collected are used to financially support the various projects of the organization.

The AFS Private Foundation aims to promote by all means access for all to international educational exchanges and intercultural educational and immersion experiences, regardless of race, nationality, language, religion, culture or political affiliation.

The private foundation, AFS Belgium, is committed to act in accordance with the values of the AFS International Partnership: 

"AFS enables people to act as full citizens by contributing to the development of peace and understanding in a world of diversity. This action involves the recognition of peace as a dynamic process threatened by injustice, inequality and intolerance. AFS recognizes the dignity and worth of every human being, regardless of race or culture. AFS Foundation Belgium is committed to respect human rights and fundamental freedoms regardless of race, gender, language, religion or social status."

The AFS Foundation Belgium intends to develop the following projects - the granting of scholarships and financial aid to facilitate participation in intercultural experiences; - the raising of funds to increase the foundation's assets and income and thus enable it to grant scholarships on a long-term basis; - the granting of aid in the form of scholarships to institutions, associations or foundations that are educational in nature or that have objectives similar to those of the private foundation AFS Belgium.
