Rubenianum Fund
Fundraising through patronage to finalize the prestigious Corpus Rubenianum.

What is it about?
The Rubenianum Fund was created at the King Baudouin Foundation with the aim of completing the publication of the Corpus Rubenianum. The Corpus Rubenianum, the first volume of which was published in 1960, is the voluminous catalogue raisonné of the works of Peter Paul Rubens. The Fund aims to raise the necessary financial resources via a system of patronage: anyone can join the Fund and acquire the status of Member (€5,000 or more), Benefactor (€25,000 or more) or Patron (more than €200,000), depending on the amount donated. 21 volumes of the Corpus have already been published, with the final 24 volumes due to be available by 2020. The Corpus analyses and reproduces every painting, sketch and drawing by Rubens, as well as the engravings and illustrations produced under his supervision. Other works, such as tapestries, sculptures and engravings based on Rubens' drawings, are also commented on. Each volume is devoted to a specific theme and is prepared by an expert in the field on the basis of Burchard's updated archives and his own research. Ludwig Burchard (1886-1960), the eminent Rubens scholar who intended to create an illustrated catalogue raisonné of Rubens's work, collected an enormous amount of documentation on Rubens. On his death, all the information he had gathered was donated to the Rubenianum, which has been constantly updating this precious archive ever since. The Corpus can be seen as the culmination of Burchard's life's work. Donors who wish to make a substantial contribution to the Corpus Rubenianum Ludwig Burchard can become members of the Fonds Rubenianum. It is also possible to make a contribution of one's choice.
